Course Description:
Physical therapists must use evidence-based measures validated across the continuum of care to predict a patient's outcome. The data from these measures should be used to develop effective treatment plans, integrating the appropriate dose and intensity of exercise. However, individuals recovering from stroke often have multiple co-morbidities which can impact their participation in outcome measures and interventions. Through a series of case studies, this course models best practices in the application and interpretation of three evidence-based stroke outcome measures for post-acute settings, the Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke (PASS), Stroke Impact Scale (SIS), and Stroke Rehabilitation Assessment of Movement (STREAM).
