Course Description:
The amputation population has unique rehabilitation needs immediately post operatively and in the sub-acute phase. Rehabilitation providers are key members of the team to optimize patient outcomes, education, and adjustment to a new condition. This course will assist clinicians to provide evidence-based care by reviewing amputation etiology and medical comorbidities; addressing amputation specific post operative mobility and equipment considerations; avoiding the most common complications after amputation; and screening and preparations for potential prosthesis use.
