Course Description:
One movement dysfunction, Kinetic Chain Collapse (KCC), has the potential to lead to a host of orthopedic pathologies involving the spine, SIJ, hip, knee, and ankle. This course takes a joint-by-joint approach at analyzing the detrimental influence that KCC has on the musculoskeletal system. Because of the effects of regional interdependence, the Physical Therapist must be on the lookout for KCC, regardless of where the patients symptoms present. Evidence, case studies, and integrated reasoning are used to help the Physical Therapist link the various aspects of KCC with specific dysfunctions and named pathologies. In this way, the Physical Therapist will gain a better understanding of the etiology and pathophysiology of many common musculoskeletal disorders.
