Course Description:
a. We’ll explore the necessary transformation of physical therapy in today's ever-evolving healthcare environment. We’ll explore the shift from passive care, where practitioners functioned as "healers," to a proactive model where physical therapists act as "musculoskeletal coaches." As we face decreasing reimbursements and shifting societal perceptions, it’s crucial to adopt “active care” strategies. This session will clarify misconceptions about exercise and programming, emphasizing that movement and education are the true cornerstones of promoting patient independence and positive long-term outcomes. Rooted in evidence-based principles, we’ll examine the benefits of strength training, including enhanced flexibility, improved range of motion, and the hypoalgesic effects the come from movement.
