Course Description:

Lumbopelvic/pelvic floor relationships for all PT’s

Objectives:

1. Identify key pelvic ligaments and muscles and their referral patterns to extrapelvic structures.


2. Be able to screen for common pelvic concerns and know how to treat, or refer to pelvic PT or MD as appropriate.


3. Demonstrate palpation and treatment of external pelvic floor associated muscles, ligaments and joints


4. Confidentially provide general recommendations on pelvic concerns to patients seeking physical therapy treatment for other issues.

Angela’s bio:

Angela graduated from Mayo School of Health Sciences with a degree in Physical Therapy. She has since gained board certification in both Lifestyle Medicine and is a Women’s Health Clinical Specialist via the Academy of Pelvic Health of the APTA. She practices at the Mayo Clinic Health Clinic in Onalaska. Her practice is primarily pelvic health and pediatrics, including assisting newborn feeding dyads. Outside of the clinic she teaches ballet and Pilates, enjoys knitting and is frequently seen driving her 4 children to activities and watching them compete in gymnastics meets.
