Course Description:

Vestibular dysfunctions (VDs) significantly increase the risk of falls, particularly among older adults. Yet, they remain under-treated due to a lack of specialized skills among home health physical therapists (PTs). A comprehensive literature review, patient perspectives, and expert consultation informed the creation of the training curriculum. Clinician input was instrumental in developing a minimum data set (MDS) to assess patients at risk for falls. The training encompasses lectures, hands-on training, skills assessments, and a multiple-choice exam.
