Course Description:

This course serves as an introduction and is intended for all clinical associates. This course covers diabetes-related content including the American Diabetes Association (ADA) science-based clinical evaluations, development of interventions, relevant medications, and prioritization of clinical findings for the patient with type 2 diabetes, and clinician responsibilities. The course also provides an overview of the ADCES 7 Self-care Behaviors and illustrates how to utilize this tool in the evaluation and education of patients with type 2 diabetes and their caregivers. The course also teaches clinicians how to provide Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) services to people with diabetes and their caregivers.
