Course Description:

This intermediate level course describes therapy best practices for total knee and total hip arthroplasties with particular focus on addressing post-operative edema as detrimental to recovery. It examines the mechanisms of pulsed shortwave diathermy (PSWD) as a non-pharmacological intervention for post-operative edema management and its impact on overall recovery and functional performance. The course materials and clinical protocols presented are evidence-based and oriented to immediate clinical application as part of a skilled orthopedic therapy plan.
