Course Description:

This lecture series is intended to complement the ATPA’s ISC monograph “Frontiers in Orthopaedic Science: The Science of Neuromuscular Healing” and focuses on the application of exercise after nerve, tendon, and muscle injuries. This entails a review of the importance of understanding mechanisms underlying our physical therapy interventions, an overview of repair and regeneration, and factors that may affect the healing process. Subsequent lectures discuss nerve, tendon, and muscle healing at greater length in addition to the application of dosed rest and exercise to optimize repair and regeneration.
