Course Description:

This course will discuss epidemiology of runner injuries. Injury prevalence between young and aging (Masters Runners) is contrasted, with an emphasis on patellofemoral pain, tibial stress fracture, and Achilles tendinopathy. We also discuss what factors contribute to running injuries, including psychosocial influences. Fundamental rehabilitation principles for the treatment of runners will be discussed, with an emphasis on leverage optimal loading strategies to target adaptive tissue responses. Lastly, this course will include clinical pearls to ensure a safe and durable return to running.
