Course Description:

This course, targeting the orthopedic therapist, will provide an introduction to pelvic floor anatomy and diagnoses that may be present when treating orthopedic patients for hip, lumbar spine, and abdominal diagnoses. This course will review the application of pelvic floor testing, education to screen for pelvic floor dysfunction and treatment strategies targeting the foundations of pelvic floor dysfunction through an orthopedic lens. We will review common pelvic health diagnoses that an orthopedic therapist can begin to treat; including, diastasis recti, C-section recovery, pelvic organ prolapse, status-post (s/p) hysterectomy, s/p prostatectomy, and s/p hernia repair.
