Course Description:
This course challenges participants to apply key principles of cancer rehabilitation learned throughout various asynchronous courses in a case-based format. In a live classroom, case-based setting, participants will implement the patient-client management model, Dietz classification of cancer rehabilitation and the International Classification of Function (ICF) framework to guide comprehensive patient management in the outpatient cancer rehabilitation setting. Learners will detail an examination, evaluation, assessment, and individualized care plan for two patient cases: an individual with metastatic disease, and an individual experiencing late/lasting effects of medical oncology treatment such as radiation and chemotherapy. This course will also integrate principles of value-based care and the role of cancer rehabilitation therapists in delivering value. Attendees will actively participate in case-based learning to utilize active and reflective tools for clinical decision making.
