Course Description:
This online course is designed to provide cancer rehabilitation professionals with the foundational knowledge around exercise in people affected by cancer. This course will provide evidence-based, contemporary information on the role of exercise as a therapeutic modality in cancer survivors across the cancer continuum. It includes a review of exercise physiology as it relates to cancer, cancer comorbidities that influence exercise, considerations for exercise safety, exercise testing and prescription, pertinent exercise guidelines for use in different cancer populations, and modules of care for consideration when prescribing exercise. The role of exercise and its tie to function will be highlighted throughout the course. Learner understanding will be assessed using post-course multiple choice quizzes and case-based discussions in the Foundations of Cancer Rehabilitation II live course.
