Course Description:
Cancer rehabilitation is a rewarding but challenging area of practice that requires core rehabilitation skills applied within the context of a deep understanding of cancer, its treatments, and their effect on various body systems. This course is designed to provide all rehabilitation professionals a foundational understanding of cancer, including how various cancers develop, how it is diagnosed and staged, and common treatment methods. It will also address how rehabilitation professionals can minimize the effects of cancer on a person's performance and participation in activities of daily living. In addition, cancer rehabilitation has a variety of unique clinical applications and care philosophies. This course will provide evidence-based, contemporary information on cancer rehabilitation with case-based applications of knowledge obtained during these 12 modules. Learner understanding will be assessed using post-course multiple choice quizzes and case-based discussions in Foundations of Cancer Rehabilitation I.
