Course Description:
Up to half of people diagnosed with cancer are of working age. Subsequently, they undergo cancer treatment, which can have a significant physical, psychosocial, cognitive, emotional, and financial burden. Cancer rehabilitation clinicians strive to improve individuals' health-related quality of life by addressing impairments to allow survivors to maintain or return to meaningful occupational roles, including employment. Some survivors would benefit from focused assessments and interventions to address common physical and cognitive cancer-related impairments that impact their ability to return to work. This course will instruct clinicians on how to identify survivors who would benefit from a return-to-work program, select assessments, structure a plan of care, and advocate for rehabilitation services to reduce the financial burden of cancer care.
