Course Description:

This course describes the challenges facing older adults who want to age in place and offers rehab therapists solutions to meet those challenges in the form of adaptive equipment and home modifications. Factors to consider when modifying the bedroom and bathroom are discussed using examples to demonstrate how to match solutions to each client's needs. The course describes both minor and major modifications and available equipment to maximize safety and function. Community resources and funding options to assist with acquiring and implementing home modifications are presented.
