Course Description:

This course provides physical therapy professionals with an update on therapeutic and medical treatment strategies for Parkinson's disease (PD). It discusses the impact of these interventions on clinical presentations and physical therapy plan of care. Medication advancements, deep brain stimulation, virtual reality, treadmill training, and current evidence for assistive devices are discussed. This course targets the advanced learner who understands the basic pathophysiology of PD and is confident integrating the information presented into their evaluation and treatment plans.
