Course Description:

Master the assessment and treatment of dizziness and balance disorders across the lifespan.

Dizziness, in its many forms – vertigo, motion sickness, disequilibrium, lightheadedness, and others – presents a significant challenge for individuals of all ages. From the young student struggling to focus in class to the working adult facing limitations in their career to the senior navigating daily life, these conditions can dramatically impact the quality of life, leading to:

1. Falls and injuries are a significant concern, particularly for older adults, but they are also a risk for anyone experiencing instability.
2. Decreased independence: Difficulty with daily tasks, work, and social activities.
3. Reduced productivity: Challenges in academic or professional settings.
4. Social isolation: Withdrawal from activities and social engagement due to fear, anxiety, or physical limitations.
5. Emotional distress: Increased anxiety, depression, and frustration.

Physical therapy plays a vital role in managing dizziness and balance disorders.
