Course Description:
Anterior knee pain (i.e. runner’s knee) is recognized as being one of the most common overuse injuries in runners. Key to establishing an effective treatment plan for the runner with anterior knee pain is a thorough evaluation of the patient’s running mechanics. This session will review the underlying mechanics related to the development of anterior knee pain in runners and discuss how to perform a basic running assessment to determine potential contributing factors. Implications for rehabilitation and injury prevention will be discussed.
