Course Description:
This course is focused on enhancing the therapists’ ability to assess clinical presentation and differentially diagnose in the area of the pelvis and SI joint. Course participants will be able to define and discuss the anatomy and the biomechanics of the pelvis in regards to load transfers during movement. Course participants will be able to effectively assess the SI joint and pelvis to differentiate from low back pain. Course participants will be able to screen for red flags and properly assess dysfunctional movement in the sacrum, innominate and coccyx. Course participants will be able to define common pathologies of the pelvic girdle, low back and hip to properly differentially diagnose from pelvic girdle dysfunction. This interactive and lab based course provides multiple lab and breakout sessions for participants to practice and refine their palpation skills, evaluation skills, and manual therapy techniques, along with several case studies to work on the application of these techniques in clinical situations.
