Course Description:
Approximately 90 million American adults experience vestibular disorders, with symptoms like dizziness, imbalance, and increased risk of falls impacting their mobility, function, and overall quality of life. Studies show that 50% of falls in older adults may have an underlying vestibular dysfunction, underscoring the crucial role of skilled clinicians in identifying and managing these conditions.
This immersive two-day workshop is designed to deepen clinicians’ expertise in evaluating and treating vestibular disorders, equipping them with practical skills they can apply immediately in clinical practice. Participants will gain a solid, hands-on foundation in vestibular anatomy, assessment, and evidence-based treatment strategies that can benefit a broad range of patients beyond vestibular diagnoses.
Understanding the vestibular system is invaluable not only for treating vestibular disorders but also for enhancing therapists’ ability to address fall risk, dizziness, and imbalance in orthopedic, neurologic, and other patient populations. This course ensures that every participant will leave ready to implement new skills to improve patient outcomes and reduce fall risk in a variety of clinical settings.
