Course Description:

• Level of course – Intermediate
• Target audience – PT, OT and orthotists/prosthetists
• Course objectives –
   To provide therapists with a comprehensive overview of pediatric interventions, including the use of cranial remolding helmets
   To provide strategies for contracture management, to include serial casting techniques and a range of orthotic and prosthetic options for pediatric patients
   To provide therapists with an understanding of the clinical indications, application techniques, and best practices for these interventions
   To educate therapists on how to make informed decisions when treating pediatric patients with cranial, musculoskeletal, and functional impairments
   Discuss orthotic and prosthetic options for pediatric patients

• Statement designating how this course relates to the practice of physical therapy
   This course will educate therapists on orthotic and prosthetic techniques which can improve therapy outcomes for pediatric patients with upper & lower extremity loss or limb deformities. Therapists will be educated on 3D printing technologies in orthotics and prosthetics for pediatric patients. Therapists will be trained on strategic approaches to contracture treatment that restore function.

At the end of the course, participants will engage in an interactive Q&A session that will assess their understanding of the information presented during the course by allowing them to answer questions from the presenters and ask questions regarding the course information, post course assessment provided.
