Course Description:

The effectiveness of therapists in managing the impact of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has resulted in a much greater number of referrals from physicians for these services. This necessitates that clinicians need to continue to become more knowledgeable about the management of MS. Management strategies that may be effective in treating other neurologic conditions, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI and Parkinson’s, are often ineffective in treatment of MS because of its distinct and highly variable presentation. The purpose of this course is to provide clinicians with the knowledge and tools to evaluate and treat persons with MS effectively. Evidence-based strategies for management of MS across the spectrum of disability and the continuum of time will be provided, along with real world case examples to illustrate specific techniques that can be utilized in the clinic.
