Course Description:
A comprehensive approach to gastrointestinal disorders including bowel and digestion dysfunction. This approach allows for the consideration of management of multiple factors including nutritional, psychosocial, medical-surgical decisions, and physical therapy examination/intervention advanced intervention. A multifactorial approach can often lead to improved management of this complex patient as a varied intervention approach may be required to be successful. A comprehensive understanding of the physiology and symptom manifestation can improve the ability to develop a comprehensive intervention strategy tailored to each patient’s needs throughout the episode of care.
Course: This course is completely recorded and self-paced so you have flexibility on when and where you watch! There will be no live portion included. There are Q&As recorded with the students that participated in the live recording.
Lab: The lab videos are all included in the recorded material and will very specifically walk you through how to use a balloon catheter as well as several other manual techniques. There is no live/small group lab included in this course (they were an additional option available for those who took the live course but were not required and not considered part of the content of the course). If you would like a personal private lab experience, you may email Susan Clinton and discuss a fee for that one-on-one professional consultation.
