Supporting Those on the Autism Spectrum in the Healthcare Setting

Course Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:


1. Learn what Autism is and current prevalence rates in the US

2. Learn and discuss helpful strategies for communicating with and treating adults on the autism spectrum in the healthcare system

3. Go over a hospital case study and potential ideas for enhancing outcomes  

4. Learn about Camp Encourage and volunteer opportunities for youth and young adults on the autism spectrum in the Kansas City area
