Course Description:
Description: This course will consist of a series of 3 in person labs discussing management of intra- and extra-articular shoulder conditions & common elbow pathologies. Courses will have a power point presentation and quiz reviewing each specific topic within the series. We will offer 2 CEUs for each part as each part will consist of online prep coursework with quiz and in person skill lab.
For part 1 of the series we will review diagnostic criteria and clinical presentation of intra-articular shoulder conditions. This course/lab will consist of a powerpoint presentation & quiz reviewing the most recent evidence as it relates to evaluation and treatment of intra-articular shoulder conditions. We will review evidence as it relates to most appropriate interventions for intra-articular shoulder conditions including manual therapy and exercise with time spent in labs practicing the mentioned techniques.
• Review CPG for adhesive capsulitis
• Differential diagnosis of upper quarter pain
• Manual therapy techniques for the shoulder and cervicothoracic spine
• Review exercise for intra-articular shoulder conditions
Part II course/lab will consist of a powerpoint presentation & quiz reviewing the most recent evidence as it relates to evaluation and treatment of extra-articular shoulder conditions. This course/lab will consist of a powerpoint presentation & quiz reviewing the most recent evidence as it relates to evaluation and treatment of extra-articular shoulder conditions. We will review evidence as it relates to most appropriate interventions for extra-articular shoulder conditions including manual therapy and exercise with time spent in labs practicing the mentioned techniques.
• Review STAR article
• Differential diagnosis of upper quarter pain
• Manual therapy techniques for the shoulder and cervicothoracic spine
• Review exercise for extra-articular shoulder conditions
Part III of the series will consist of a powerpoint presentation & quiz reviewing the most recent evidence for common elbow pathologies seen in clinic including tendinopathy and neuritis. We will review the most recent evidence as it relates to assessment and treatment of these common pathologies including use of SINSS and hypothesis generation to help guide the most effective treatment. We will also dive into a higher level discussion of exercise progression as it relates to both patient goals and their symptom irritability/severity and stage of recovery.
