This course is intended for practicing clinicians and students who wish to learn current best practices and practical interventions for edema management. This course is intended for treating clinicians who encounter patients with swelling often as a secondary diagnosis and typically the result of acute injury or illness. This interactive course will address the structure and function of the lymphatic system and its relationship with normal circulatory function as well as impaired scenarios. This course will cover precautions and contraindications to treatment, advanced surgical treatment options for lymphedema, edema reduction and management tool. Participants will get a chance to practice edema mobilization techniques and simple management strategies.
