Course Description:

This intermediate Comprehensive Stroke course was developed to guide rehab staff in clinical decision making in working with patients in the comprehensive stroke unit at Henry Ford Hospital. This course will provide an introduction to stroke, monitoring, equipment, lines, drains, and medical concerns of the stroke patient. Components include: Didactic training, Homestudy manual and Hands on observation in SIM lab and/or patient care unit. It is expected that the treating therapist will utilize this course in addition to critical reasoning, medical record review and collaboration with medical team to determine medical stability and activity progression. Prerequisite: 1. Lab Values. This is an internal course for HFHS employees only.
