Course Description:

The Hopkare Geriatric Summit will bring together occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, social workers, and caregivers for a dynamic, interdisciplinary event focused on empowering older adults to age in place with dignity and support.
Participants will identify key barriers to aging in place—including physical, cognitive, and environmental challenges—and will explore practical, evidence-based solutions. Through interactive case studies and collaborative discussions, attendees will apply interdisciplinary care strategies, learning how to effectively coordinate across roles to address the complex needs of aging individuals.
The summit will provide opportunities to analyze client scenarios, propose tailored interventions, and develop personalized care plans. Ethical, legal, cultural, and technological dimensions of care will be integrated throughout, ensuring a holistic and forward-thinking approach.
Finally, participants will strengthen their ability to advocate for community resources and environmental adaptations, building a toolkit of strategies to help clients thrive safely and meaningfully in their chosen environments.
