Course Description:
After experiencing a stroke, an individual requires the collaborative efforts of several healthcare professionals from various disciplines to recover. The interprofessional care team, comprising healthcare providers and licensed professionals, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, should coordinate their efforts early on to maximize rehabilitation and improve the individual's quality of life. This team of specialists, each serving a unique function, works together as a carefully managed care team focused on recovery.
This learning activity examines the collaboration between physical therapy practitioners, healthcare providers, and other healthcare professionals from different disciplines in supporting individuals recovering from a stroke.
