Course Description:

This course provides a comprehensive overview of therapeutic compression as part of an effective edema management within the Manual Edema Mobilization framework. The course will review principles of compression, how compression influences edema reduction through understanding of physiology, different types of compression options from short stretch wraps to garments as well as demonstration of wrap techniques. This is an appropriate course for occupational therapist and physiotherapists treating individuals with upper extremity trauma and with an intact lymphatic system. The information provided will aid therapists in clinical decision making. The course will include case studies, interview with a clinical expert as well as lab demonstrations.
