Course Description:

This course provides an in-depth exploration of pediatric spasticity management. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), including its procedure and benefits for patients with congenital spasticity. The program will also clarify how to distinguish between Cerebral Palsy and Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Attendees will be introduced to the Advanced Management of Pediatric Spasticity (AMPS) program and its integral role in delivering comprehensive care. Emphasis will be placed on the critical role of Physical Therapy in achieving positive outcomes for pediatric spasticity patients. Finally, the course will highlight current gaps in knowledge and identify opportunities for future research to advance the field.
