Course Description:
Individuals are at high risk for a variety of impairments and functional limitations poststroke. Commonly individuals experience significant deficits that have a profound
impact on movement. Prioritizing patient needs to improve functional task performance is challenging in the current healthcare environment and there is limited direction on how to proceed.
This course will help bridge the gap of providing evidence-based care while focusing on the common priority needs of patients following stroke. The focus will be on providing efficient and realistic clinical applications to achieve the greatest impact on the use of the upper extremity. In addition, improving transfers and balance for a variety of patient
levels will result in increased safety during movement.
