Understanding how foundational beliefs influence the values and ethics of clinical practice can help us to understand how disagreements arise on controversial clinical practices and foster more productive dialogue. Further, understanding how different ethical theories construct analysis of clinical problems can assist clinicians with navigating complex and challenging clinical scenarios. The course will describe foundational aspects of morality and ethical theory and describe various frameworks used to apply them to clinical practice.
