Course Description:

This is a Copy of the previously approved Comprehensive Lymphedema Management Advanced, Refresher and Update Course which is designed to teach Certified Lymphedema Therapists the most current advanced management techniques to effectively treat Lymphedema patients. This request includes 2 additional hours as it was found that there was a need for more practical practice time for education of new techniques. The Lymphedema patients and protocols addressed could include pt’s with Lymphedema secondary to Cancer surgeries or Node removal and/or radiation including the advanced protocols for Lymphedema of the Face, Neck, Breast, Trunk and Genitals and secondary Lymphedema patients effected by Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Chronic Congestive Heart Failure (medically managed), Post Fracture patients and Post Surgical Orthopedic patients such as Post Total Hip Replacement , Total Knee Replacement, Shoulder Replacement, Elbow Replacement or other orthopedic surgeries prone to edema post surgically.
Certified Lymphedema Therapists will also have an opportunity to review and practice lymphedema treatment protocols to assure proper use and techniques of treatment protocols for the upper and lower extremities. They will also have the opportunity to practice and learn Advanced Bandaging techniques and Kinesiotaping techniques Specific for Lymphedema Patients. Therapists will have the opportunity to discuss and be exposed to Case Studies and advanced practice theories for Lymphedema Patients.
