Course Description:
Dr. Moberg-Wolff: Updates to PM&R Management of Children with spasticity (including toe walking and torticollis) and scoliosis.
Kelly Bontempo and Jessica Scott Schwoerer, MD: This lecture will provide therapists with a comprehensive understanding of when and how to refer pediatric patients for genetic testing, particularly those with developmental delays or other concerning features. Additionally, we will discuss the role of interdisciplinary collaboration, examining when other specialists should be involved before or alongside genetics. We will review and discuss genomic testing and its application to patients in the NICU.
Laura Plummer: Technology is evolving at a rapid pace, creating greater access for youth with disabilities and their families. Assistive technology (AT) is literally anything that assists people with disabilities to live, learn, play, and work (for the adults in the room). This session will include demonstrations of AT devices and will cover all the resources available for families and youth with disabilities in Wisconsin and beyond.
