Course Description:

This two-day, whole-body course will provide both didactic and practical instruction in the utilization of dry needling as an intervention in the management of common neuromusculoskeletal conditions experienced within sport and physical performance. The in-person aspect of the course is proceeded by four hours of online video instruction covering the neurophysiological mechanisms of needling to support clinical reasoning and a variety of needling techniques to underpin practical application. Direct instruction in safety considerations including indications & contraindications, dry needling psychomotor development, and education for clinical-based application will be presented. A review of the contemporary evidence-informed literature supporting the use of dry needling in clinical practice will also be presented. This course is commissioned by Elevation Physical and Occupational Therapy for the education, training and continued professional development of
their physical therapy and rehabilitation team.
