Course Description:

This course will provide a review of the balance system and how normal and abnormal changes to this system can affect the older adult and increase risk factors for falling. The focus will be on how we can address impairments within the balance system as rehab professionals to reduce the risk of falling. Evidence based outcome measures and screening tools will be identified, and interventions will be discussed to appropriately challenge older adults and reduce their risk for falls.
