Acute Therapy’s Role in Peripartum Care

Course Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
Participants will have a clear understanding of the timeframe referred to as peripartum and/or postpartum & how this timeframe impacts patient’s mental & physical health as well as roles & routines.
Participants will identify ways in which acute care therapists are already providing therapy to patients falling under similar categories and apply this knowledge to the peripartum population.
Participants will identify the unique differences in the peripartum patient population and provide additional ways acute therapists can address needs along the spectrum of patient care.
Participants will identify key patient populations within the peripartum population that may warrant additional interventions/education during their acute stay.
