Course Description:
Neonatal therapy addresses the complex developmental needs of infants hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) who are at high risk for developmental delays and medical complications. Neonatal therapists—occupational, physical, and speech therapists with specialized training—are tasked with providing targeted interventions that support motor, sensory, and feeding skills essential for long-term development. However, because NICU infants experience rapid developmental changes, determining effective goals and adapting the plan of care can be challenging. This course equips neonatal therapists with tools to construct appropriate, individualized treatment goals, conduct thorough evaluations, and adjust care plans to align with each infant’s evolving needs.
