Course Description:
This course explores the intersection of mental health and aging and the potential impact on rehabilitation outcomes. It highlights the roles of occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology professionals in identifying signs of common mental illnesses, recognizing age-related factors affecting mental health, detecting disengagement from treatment, and selecting strategies to enhance participation. This course provides occupational, physical, and speech-language pathology professionals with a review of common mental health conditions affecting older adults and strategies for improving rehabilitation outcomes.
