Course Description:

Handling patient refusals can be challenging. Rehabilitation therapists must balance respecting a patient’s right to refuse while justifying a patient’s need for therapy. Additional challenges include revenue and productivity costs of refusal, which must be considered. This course models best practices in accepting and documenting refusals and when it is appropriate to discharge a patient from the caseload due to repeated refusals.
