Course Description:

This course teaches physical and occupational therapists how to perform a comprehensive custom wheelchair evaluation and select an appropriate mobility base and postural support systems. It reviews the advantages and disadvantages of various seating systems and wheelchair components for custom seating. Documentation best practices are presented to ensure therapists understand what key information must be included and when to start the process to justify the need for a custom wheelchair. This course teaches occupational and physical therapy providers how to complete the evaluation and documentation for a custom wheelchair.
