Course Description:
Constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) is an evidence-based neurological rehabilitation method for conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury. When specific guidelines are followed, CIMT can significantly improve functional upper extremity use, even years after the initial injury. In this course, learners will gain knowledge about the core features that make CIMT successful, how to identify appropriate patients, and how to implement the protocols for maximal patient outcomes. This course provides OTs and PTs with the knowledge of CIMT and how to implement it in practice.
