Course Description:

This three-day, interactive course will focus on the introduction to dry needling to PT Solutions licensed Physical Therapists through didactic, laboratory and case study learning environment. The course will include the understanding of dry needling physiology mechanisms as well as a review of the neuroanatomical and physiologic knowledge of trigger points and tissue irritability. The course will also cover dry needling pain management concepts, safety issues related to dry needling practice including informed consent, blood borne pathogen training and preventing and managing adverse response to treatment. The course will emphasize the evaluation and assessment of current evidence-based practice related to dry needling and include an understanding of state specific practice acts related to dry needling practice.
