Course Description:
This course provides a comprehensive overview of stroke and its rehabilitation, with an emphasis on clinical decision-making across the continuum of care. Participants will review common modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for stroke and examine current evidence-based guidelines that inform stroke rehabilitation practices. The course will also explore anterior and posterior circulation stroke syndromes, highlighting their associated neurologic deficits to support accurate diagnosis and management. In addition, learners will gain an understanding of spasticity following stroke, including its definition, evaluation, and the role of pharmacologic treatment options in optimizing functional outcomes.
