Course Description:
Physical therapists are increasingly tasked with evaluating and treating patients with severe deconditioning, autonomic dysfunction, fatigue syndromes, and multisystem impairment following viral illness, including Long COVID. These patients commonly present with exertional intolerance, pain syndromes, cognitive dysfunction, sleep disturbance, and autonomic instability that complicate conventional rehabilitation strategies.
The Perrin Technique™ is an evidence-informed manual assessment and treatment approach developed to address biomechanical, neuro-lymphatic, and glymphatic contributors to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Fibromyalgia, and post-viral syndromes, including Long COVID. Clinical studies, feasibility trials, and case reports demonstrate meaningful symptom improvement when the technique is applied by trained frontline practitioners in conjunction with structured patient self-care and exercise strategies, with improvement rates reported near sixty percent in selected populations.
This 29-hour live course integrates a foundational cranial and neuro-lymphatic pre-course with an advanced masterclass emphasizing applied anatomy, biomechanics, autonomic regulation, lymphatic and glymphatic physiology, and hands-on manual intervention. Instruction focuses on physical assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment sequencing, and pacing strategies relevant to physical therapy practice, particularly in medically complex and deconditioned patients.
Physical therapists are well suited for this training due to their expertise in manual examination, movement science, graded rehabilitation, and longitudinal care. The course enhances PT knowledge and skills in evaluating post-viral and fatigue-related presentations and integrating manual techniques within rehabilitation plans while remaining within physical therapy scope of practice.
The Perrin Technique™ is applied when a medical diagnosis has been established by an appropriately qualified diagnostic clinician. This course does not train physical therapists to diagnose medical disease. Dr. Perrin is a
PRE-COURSE PARTICIPATION POLICY
The Cranial Osteopathy Boot Camp provides essential foundational instruction in cranial and neuro-lymphatic palpation, development of quiet hands, and trauma-informed manual contact.
• The pre-course is required for participants without prior formal cranial or craniosacral training.
• The pre-course may be waived for clinicians with documented prior education in Upledger-based craniosacral therapy, Sutherland-based osteopathic cranial training, or equivalent formal cranial education.
• All participants are pre-screened prior to enrollment.
For maximum educational benefit and hands-on skill acquisition, participation in both the pre-course and masterclass is strongly recommended.
